News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
House Fire, East Wayne Street
(August 13, 2016) – A passing motorist called 911 and advised there was smoke coming from a vacant/abandoned house in the 700 block of East Wayne Street. The Fort Wayne Fire Department arrived 3 minutes later and found a large 2 story residential home with smoke coming from the roof. Crews made entry and went to the second floor to fight the attic fire.
Other crews searched the home but determined that it was not occupied. No injuries were reported and the fire was under control in 20 minutes.
The Fire Department was assisted by FWPD, Neighborhood code and AEP.
