(August 10, 2016) – Hot and humid conditions can be expected through Friday. There is low chance of thunderstorms this afternoon into this evening, mainly along and south of the US Route 24 corridor.
Humidity levels will continue to increase for Thursday, with peak afternoon heat index values around 100 for many locations, and from the mid 90s to around 100 for Friday. Chances for showers and thunderstorms will begin to increase on Thursday, and especially by Friday as a cold front begins to approach from the west.
Widespread severe weather is not expected with this front, but some locally heavy downpours are possible Friday into Saturday.
Temperatures will cool back to near seasonable normals for the weekend as the cold front tracks across the area. Dry weather should also return to the area for the 2nd half of the weekend behind this cold front.
