Cooling station open beginning Friday

 

 

News release from the City of Fort Wayne:

Cooling stations to be offered to the public beginning Friday

(July 20, 2016) – Local social service agencies and the City of Fort Wayne today announced that cooling stations will be available for the public due to high temperatures and heat indexes forecasted to impact our area.

 

Friday, July 22nd:

  • Rescue Mission, 301 W. Superior St. from 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Salvation Army, 2901 N. Clinton St. from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Community Center, 233 W. Main St. from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • McMillen Park Community Center, 3901 Abbott St. from 9 a.m.-9 p.m.

 

Saturday, July 23rd:

  • Rescue Mission from 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • McMillen Park Community Center from noon-5 p.m.

 

Sunday, July 24th:

  • Rescue Mission from 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Salvation Army from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

 

The Salvation Army, Rescue Mission, United Way of Allen County, Park Center, and Just Neighbors Interfaith Homeless Network work collaboratively with the City to provide the response and resources to individuals needing shelter from health-threatening conditions due to weather conditions.
