Severe weather possible tonight

(July 17, 2016) – Showers and thunderstorms are moving eastward through northern Illinois and will move into northwestern Indiana tonight. These storms are moving through an unstable environment and some could possibly become strong to severe. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is out until 2am EDT and the counties affected are shown in pink in the graphic. The main concerns with any severe storm are wind gusts up to around 70mph and large hail up to 1 inch in diameter, although a tornado or two is also possible.
