Slight risk for severe storms today

- Damaging winds and large hail are main threats
(June 15, 2016) – Showers and thunderstorms are likely this morning as a warm front moves through the area. Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop again this afternoon and evening as a cold front approaches the area. A few severe storms are possible this afternoon and early this evening, especially southeast of a Coldwater to Plymouth line, with the main threat damaging winds and large hail. Locally heavy rainfall is also possible with the storms today. Highs today will be in the mid to upper 80s with lows tonight in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Cooler and drier air will move into the area from the northwest on Thursday with brisk northwest winds resulting in high waves and dangerous swimming conditions along the LaPorte and Berrien County Lake Michigan shoreline.
