Kiango the giraffe’s birthday party
Tuesday, June 14, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

(June 13, 2016) – The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo invites guests to visit the zoo to celebrate Kiango the giraffe’s first birthday. Birthday activities will happen from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m on Tuesday, June 14. This event is included with regular zoo admission.

Guests will have the opportunity to participate in interactive stations celebrating the zoo’s youngest giraffe.

 

Highlights include:

  • Singing “Happy Birthday” while zoo keepers present a special treat to Kiango (11 a.m. on the giraffe platform)
  • A giraffe-sized birthday card
  • Giraffe trivia and games

As a self-supporting facility, the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo receives no tax dollars for operations. The zoo’s operations are funded by earned revenue and donations.

The zoo is open for the 2016 season April 23- October 9. Zoo hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., open until 7 p.m. from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The zoo will close for one day on Friday, August 19 for an annual fundraising event. The zoo re-opens for Wild Zoo Halloween on October 14.
