2016 RediMed 4 Wellness Summer Series with New Haven Parks & Recreation features Canal Days 5K this month
Second race of four in series benefits New Haven Community FoundationNEW HAVEN, Ind. (June 6, 2016) – The Canal Days 5K is scheduled to take place Saturday, June 11, at Havenhurst Ball Park, 211 N. Rufus St. The second of four races in the 2016 RediMed 4 Wellness Summer Series. This year’s race begins at 8 a.m. The Canal Days 5K has been part of the city’s street festival for more than 20 years.
Register online for $25 at https://runsignup.com/Race/IN/NewHaven/CanalDays5K. Packet pick-up will take place from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, June 10, at Schenlker Park Concession Stand, 956 Park Ave. Day-of registration and packet pick-up begins at 7:15 a.m.
“We are excited to collaborate with New Haven Parks & Recreation for the RediMed 4 Wellness Summer Series this year,” said Matt Lehn, COO, RediMed. “It makes sense to support wellness activities that nurture good health and prevention. We encourage families to get active together.”
Lehn added that supporting this area-wide wellness series for people of all ages complements the healthcare services available at RediMed’s clinic in Lutheran Health Plaza.
“Having RediMed’s backing adds credibility to the series,” said Mike Clendenen, superintendent, New Haven Parks & Recreation. “We continue to refine the events in hopes of reaching more participants, and to help form healthy habits.”
The New Haven Community Foundation will receive a portion of the proceeds from the race. The NHCF funds parks, arts and education in New Haven and surrounding areas where foundation members live, work and play.
The 2016 RediMed 4 Wellness Summer Series consists of four events including:
