United Way honors Nelson Coats; Dulin, Ward & DeWald, Inc. with top awards
(May 26, 2016) – During today’s breakfast celebration Nelson Coats was awarded the Bill Latz Award and Dulin, Ward & DeWald, Inc. was presented the Spirit of Giving Award. The Bill Latz Award is given only when a volunteer has provided extraordinary leadership to United Way of Allen County, provided 20 or more years of service, is a major donor for many years and has made other exemplary contributions to the organization. Previous winners include John Rogers, Bob and Irene Walters, Marilyn Moran-Townsend, Harriet and Richard Inskeep, Dick Doermer, and Ian and Mimi Rolland. The Spirit of Giving Award is the most prestigious honor for organizations that contribute to United Way. Winners exhibit the highest level of commitment to service and generosity in helping to build a stronger community.
“Our community and organization benefit from the amazing companies and individuals that we had the honor of recognizing today,” said David Nicole, president and CEO of United Way of Allen County. “They focus on what they can do to help out those around them and what they can do to help transform our community.”
Additional awards for four outstanding workplace campaigns were also awarded and two exemplary community leaders were honored for their work as United Way of Allen County champions. Awards were presented at the Grand Wayne Convention Center during the annual United Way of Allen County Community Celebration.
