News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
House Fire, 7900 block of Decatur Road Apartment 103A
(May 15, 2016) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a structure fire in a 3 story residential building in the 7900 block of Decatur Road at 3:53 a.m. When the first unit arrived 4 minutes later they found occupants evacuating with smoke coming from the first floor door. The crew pulled a line and advanced it down the hallway to Apt. 103A where the fire was located.
Other crews checked the building to make sure all occupants were out and worked to clear the smoke from the building. One occupant was transported by a TRAA medic unit to be checked out at the hospital.
The Fire Department was also assisted by the FWPD.
