Game recap from the TinCaps:

West Michigan Whitecaps 5, TinCaps 2

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. (May 12, 2016) – The TinCaps fell to the West Michigan Whitecaps, 5-2, in the opener of their four-game series at Fifth Third Ballpark.

West Michigan (18-16) raced out to a 3-0 lead in the home first inning, and that was too much for Fort Wayne (16-15) to overcome. The Whitecaps managed a pair of two-out runs against Logan Allen (L, 2-2) in that frame.

Meanwhile, West Michigan starter Matt Hall (W, 4-0) kept the TinCaps off the board over the first five innings and struck out eight. Against the Whitecaps bullpen, Fort Wayne finally scored a pair in the top of the sixth. First baseman Brad Zunica and center fielder Michael Gettys both delivered RBI singles.

However, an error in the seventh, and another in the eighth, allowed West Michigan to put up two unearned runs.
Gerson Moreno (S, 4), featuring a fastball in the high 90s, shut the door in the ninth as he faced the minimum.
The TinCaps have dropped three consecutive games.
