News release from WFWA-39:

PBS39’s “What’s It Worth?” Antiques & Collectibles Event returns to Parkview Field Sunday April 24

(April 15, 2016) – PBS39’s annual antiques and collectibles evaluation event. “What’s It Worth?” returns to the Lincoln Financial Event Center at Parkview Field on Sunday, April 24. Doors open for this event at 12 Noon and the event runs through 4:00pm.

Now in its fourth year, this event offers people the chance to have their personal treasures examined and evaluated by local experts. The cost to have a single item evaluated is $10.00 while people can have three items evaluated for $25.00. All proceeds from this event benefit PBS39, northeast Indiana’s non-profit public television station. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door the day of the event; each ticket allows for one item to be evaluated.

Among the local experts on tap to evaluate a wide variety of objects are (Name/Specialty):

  • Ken Ellenberger: General Antiques/Collectibles
  • Amy Beatty: General Antiques/Collectibles
  • Greg Littlejohn: General Antiques/Collectibles
  • Jim Fairfield: Coins/Currency
  • Sam Hyde: Books/Papers
  • Lois Levihn: Quilts
  • Becky Yager: Dolls/Toys
  • Eileen Eichhorn: Jewelry
  • Betty Fishman: Fine Art/Paintings
  • Morrison Agen: Records/Albums/Music

As many of the items that come to this event are connected by stories and anecdotes passed down by generations to their current owners, PBS39 is offering attendees a unique opportunity to help people connect with their family history, too. For the first time, experts from the Allen County Public Library’s Genealogy Center will be on hand and conduct free workshops at this event at 1:00pm and 3:00pm.

This fundraising event would not be possible without the generous support of event sponsors Harbour Assisted Living; The Founders Advisors LLC; The Markle Exit 286 Antique Mall, Estate of Mind, AAA Auction and Urban Concrete.

PBS39 is the northeast Indiana region’s only public television station and its sole locally owned-and-operated television station. It broadcasts daily over four channels: PBS39/Channel 39.1; Kids39/Channel 39.2; CreateTV/Channel 39.3 and 39Explore/Channel 39.4.
