News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
House Fire, McKinnie Avenue
(April 16, 2016) – This afternoon, the Fort Wayne Fire Department worked at the scene of a residential structure fire in the 1900 block of McKinnie Avenue. All occupants had evacuated safely before the first Engine arrived approximately 2 minutes after being dispatched. Fire crews quickly searched for any persons still inside and extinguished a bedroom fire that filled the second floor with smoke. No injuries occurred during this incident and the home sustained fire damage in one room and smoke damage throughout the house.
The FWFD was assisted at the scene by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code, AEP, and NIPSCO.
