TinCaps Expand Media Coverage for 2016 Season
More Ways To Keep Tabs Of The TinCaps Than Ever Before

(April 5, 2016) — There’ll be more ways to keep up with the TinCaps during the 2016 season than ever before.

In partnership with Federated Media, TinCaps radio coverage is expanding to the FM dial as all 140 games can now be heard on ESPN Radio 100.9 FM, in addition to their previous home on ESPN Radio 1380. As in the past, all games will also stream online at TinCapsRadio.com and via the free TuneIn Radio app.

Meanwhile, the TinCaps continue to be one of the only teams in all of Minor League Baseball to air all 70 home games on TV on Comcast Network 81. Fans can also watch half of the team’s road schedule online through MiLB.tv.

Whether home or away, near a radio/TV or not, fans will still be able to follow the TinCaps pitch-by-pitch in 2016. Minor League Baseball’s “GameDay” will allow fans to track every pitch on MiLB.com or through the free Box Score on mobile devices.

In the meantime, fans can fill their TinCaps fix on Snapchat by adding the username “TinCapsBaseball.” The club is already one of the most popular in MiLB on Twitter (25,100-plus followers), Facebook (48,000 likes), Box Score (6,200-plus followers), and YouTube (1.3 million-plus views).

“With our amazingly passionate fan base around not only the Fort Wayne region, but all over, we’re constantly striving to find new ways for TinCaps fans from near and far to connect with the team,” said Michael Limmer, TinCaps Vice President – Marketing & Promotions. “Of course nothing can match the in-person Parkview Field experience, but with the expansion of our radio presence, the implementation of MiLB GameDay, and utilizing the latest in social media, there are more ways than ever for TinCaps fans to keep up with what they’re missing at the ballpark.”

John Nolan is back for his fourth season calling play-by-play of TinCaps games. He’ll work all 70 home games on TV on Comcast Network 81 and all 70 road games on ESPN Radio 1380 and 100.9 FM. Nolan will be joined on TinCaps TV broadcasts by former Philadelphia Phillies infielder and New Haven native, Dave Doster, former Fort Wayne Wizard and Fort Wayne resident Javi DeJesus, and IPFW baseball head coach Bobby Pierce. Mike Maahs and Mike Monaco — a recent Notre Dame grad who’s new to the TinCaps booth for 2016 — will have the call of all 70 home games on radio.
