News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
Building Fire, 1400 block Hanna Street
(April 7, 2016) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a building fire in the 1400 block of Hanna Street at 6:44 p.m. on April 7, 2016. When crews arrived they found heavy smoke coming from the entire structure. The Fire Department tried to make entry into the structure but was driven out by high heat and unsafe conditions. The Fire Department then took a defensive strategy. Fire Department Crews continued to fight the fire from the exterior of the building.
No one was injured while fighting this fire. This fire is under investigation.
The Fire Department was assisted by Fort Wayne Police Department, AEP, NIPSCO TRAA and Neighborhood Code.
