Shoplifting Suspects Wanted

(April 5, 2016) – Fort Wayne Police Detectives are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the two shoplifting suspect captured in the attached store surveillance photograph.

 

 

The suspects are responsible for the theft of over $2,600 worth of computer equipment from two different Wal-Mart Stores here locally.

Anyone with information that can lead to the identification of these two suspects is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 436-STOP (436-7867).

On 1/27/16 at approximately 15:06 hrs I, Officer E. Beasley 1836F, responded to 10420 Maysville Rd reference the report of a previous theft.

Upon arrival I made contact with Walmart Loss Prevention Officer, ###########, who advised that a theft took place on 1/26/16 at approximately 17:00 hrs. ### ######### stated that he has footage of 2 M/B subject walk into the store and go directly to the computers. He advised that one of the subject had a key for sensors that were attached to the computers. ########## stated that the sensors were detached and the computers were placed in a cart.

######### advised that the subject walked out of the store without paying for the computers and got into a white pick-up truck. ########## stated that the plate on the truck was #####. This plate returned as not being on file with the Indiana BMV. ########## stated that the white pick-up truck drove over to the Mike’s Carwash on Maysville Rd. He advised that the white pick-up stopped spoke to a subject in a shiny red sedan or sports car near Mike’s. ########## stated that they left and shortly after Lima Road had computers taken from there store by subject with the same description.

########### provided me with a DVD with footage of the theft, print-outs of the subjects and vehicle in the footage, and a receipt showing that the value of the two computers totaled $1281.86. I gave the control number to #########. I later placed the items into continuity.

On Wednesday January 27, 2016 at approximately 1755 hours I responded to a 10105 Lima Rd (Walmart) in reference to a theft that had occurred last night on 01/26/2016. Upon arrival I made contact with the complainant, ###########, the loss prevention officer on duty this evening.

########### stated that at approximately 2143 hours two M/B’s entered the store and proceeded to the electronics section. ######### stated that these men were observed by surveillance cameras and that one of the men wearing a grey sweatshirt distracted the electronics department employee. While the employee was distracted the other male suspect wearing a zip up jacket took two Hewlett Packard Pavillion desktop computers. ###### stated that the second suspect used a key to unlock the security monitor from each computer box and then placed them into his cart.

########## went on to state that they then walked out of the store without setting off any alarms or without any other employees noticing what had happened. ## ###### stated that the M/B suspects left the store at approximately 2148 hours. ## ###### stated to me that surveillance cameras also captured the vehicle type the suspects left in. ####### provided me with two CD-R DVD’s of the surveillance footage which he stated captured the suspect’s theft. These DVD’s were subsequently placed into evidence as Item #301. ####### also provided me with a still photograph of the two suspects entering the store. This photograph was placed into evidence as Item #302. Finally ######### provided me with a total loss receipt of the two computers that were stolen. I observed that the total loss for the store was $1,388.86. Each computer costing $649.00. I placed this receipt into evidence as Item #303.

####### also advised me that he believed these two suspects were also involved in a theft case from the Walmart on Maysville Rd. This theft was associated with this report under control number 16F011541. I then asked ####### if he could remember anything else about the suspects and he stated that he could not. I then contacted the FWPD Detective Bureau and advised the on-duty detective of my investigation. The detective advised me to place the evidence into continuity and to send my report to their office for review. I then took control of the evidence ######## had provided to me and I cleared the scene to complete my report and place items into continuity.
