News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
House Fire, 2000 block of St. Mary’s Avenue
(April 2, 2016) – FWPD was on the scene of a domestic situation Saturday, April 2, 2016, when a subject barricaded himself and started a fire. PD called for the FD and evacuated the subject. Three police officers went to St Joe hospital with smoke inhalation. The subject was taken to Lutheran Hospital by TRAA medics. The FWFD was on the scene w/i 4 minutes and found a fire in an upstairs bedroom. The fire was under control in 9 minutes.
TRAA, Nipsco and Neighborhood Code Enforcement assisted.
