USF Presents Best Practices Showcase for Educators

(February 16, 2016) — The University of Saint Francis invites area education professionals to the 2016 Best Practices Showcase, in which educators from across Indiana share their teaching strategies as they learn with colleagues in a professional community. The showcase is scheduled for March 5 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Pope John Paul II Center and Doermer Family Center for Health Science Education on the USF campus, 2701 Spring Street.

The showcase focuses on research-based teaching strategies promoting the success of a diverse range of students, with educators sharing “what-works” practices. Presenters will address a variety of topics including: integrating technology from kindergarten through high school, engagement strategies, integration of fiction and nonfiction, inquiry, guided math, dealing with difficult behaviors, ISTEP support, math workshop, teaching high-ability students and assessment strategies.

Participants will earn seven professional growth points by attending the showcase. Seating is limited and preregistration for workshops of choice is available at education.sf.edu/community-programs/best-practices-showcase. Free Wi-Fi will be available to all attendees.
