Experience the World in Your Own Backyard: Seeking Hosts for International Students at IPFW
(February 25, 2016) — ELS Language Centers/Fort Wayne, on the campus of Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW), is looking for families to host international students attending ELS.
ELS welcomes students from around the world on their journey to learn the English language in pursuit of attending university in the United States. This is a unique opportunity for American families (this includes empty nesters, singles, and married couples) to not only learn about other countries, cultures, and languages, but to also share your own. Students request hosts anywhere from one month to one year. In order to offset costs for food and utilities, a generous stipend is also offered per student/per month.
Host opportunity includes:
- Great cultural opportunity to learn and share
- Provide a caring, supportive home away from home for ELS students
- New students arrive every four weeks
- Commitment: one month to one year (flexible)
- Generous stipend offered
“It is a great way to see the world from a different perspective without ever leaving your home,” said Dawn Sypniewski, international student advisor for ELS.
