News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
House Fire, 2700 block Clara Avenue
(February 23, 2016) – The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to the report of a residential structure fire on Febraury 23, 2016 at 11:06 p.m. When the first unit arrived on the scene they found a small one story home with smoked stained windows indicating a possible fire. Firefighters forced entry into the home and found a woman who was deceased. The fire had burned itself out but the home had sustained a lot of heat damage. A search also located
one deceased dog which was turned over to animal control.
