Windy and unseasonably mild today
(February 19, 2016) – Very windy and unseasonably mild conditions are in store for today as a strong low pressure area tracks across the northern Great Lakes. Southwest winds of 20 to 35 mph can be expected today with gusts to 45 to 50 mph. Isolated stronger gusts are also possible.
The strong winds today may result in some scattered tree and power line damage across the area. A wind advisory is in effect for all of the forecast area from this morning through early this evening. High temperatures this afternoon will range from the mid 50s to lower 60s. A few sprinkles or light rain showers are also possible today, mainly across far northern Indiana and southern lower Michigan.
