Commissioners to Hold Public Hearing on Water-Sewer Rate Ordinance

(February 3, 2016) — The Allen County Board of Commissioners today announced it will hold a public hearing on petitions objecting to a new rate ordinance adopted last month by the Allen County Regional Water and Sewer District.

The hearing on petitions submitted by district ratepayers will be held on Friday, February 19, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Council Courtroom (Suite 035) of Citizens Square, 200 East Berry Street.

The hearing is a requirement of the state statute governing rates and charges for regional water, sewer and solid waste districts. Following the public hearing, it will be up to the Board of Commissioners to make its decision based on findings as required by state law. No action is expected to be taken immediately following the conclusion of the hearing.

Anyone unable to attend the hearing but wanting to be heard may send written comments to the Allen County Board of Commissioners, 200 East Berry Street, Suite 410, Fort Wayne, IN 46802, or by email to commissioner@allencounty.us before 5:00 p.m. on February 18.
