ISP and USPS Inspectors seize Marijuana

Indiana State Police and United States Postal Inspectors Seize 21 Pounds of Marijuana

(February 2, 2016) – In the past 24 hours, law enforcement officers from the Indiana State Police and the United States Postal Inspection Service have seized seven parcels, mailed from California and destined to five different Fort Wayne residences, containing a total of 21 pounds of marijuana.

Today, law enforcement officers visited numerous residences and places of business in an attempt to further the ongoing investigation. No arrests have been made in this ongoing investigation. Indiana State Police Trooper Christopher Davis and his canine partner Duke assisted with the identification of suspect parcels containing the controlled substances.

According to Postal Inspector Andrew Gottfried, “the mission of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service is to support and protect the U.S. Postal Service and its employees, infrastructure, and customers; enforce the laws that defend the nation’s mail system from illegal or dangerous use; and ensure public trust in the mail”.
