Update from the Allen County Office of Homeland Security:
Travel ADVISORY Update – 3:00 p.m. Tuesday
(January 12, 2016) – The Winter Weather Travel ADVISORY issued by the Allen County Office of Homeland Security for the unincorporated areas of Allen County remains in effect. An ADVISORY means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation, and individuals should use caution or avoid those areas.
County highway crews have been busy all day plowing and treating roads. However, high winds overnight are expected to blow much of the snow back onto rural roads. The blowing snow combined with single-digit temperatures will make driving conditions slick and hazardous for the morning commute. Motorists are urged to use caution. Crews will resume working on county roads at 4 a.m. Wednesday.
