Tonight’s weather story from the National Weather Service:

Brief freezing rain possible overnight

(January 7, 2016) – As a low pressure moves closer tonight, precipitation will begin moving in to northwestern Indiana by midnight EST and reach to northwestern Ohio by 7am EST. The precipitation could briefly start out as freezing rain; but mainly rain is expected for tonight. The low will continue the rain into Friday night.

Then a second low will move in from the southwest on Saturday bringing with it another chance for some rain. During Saturday night the second low will move by to the east and as temperatures drop, the rain will change over to snow. Accumulations will be possible Saturday night with the greatest amounts in southwestern Michigan and northwestern/central Indiana.

Then much colder air moves in with snow chances for the beginning of next week.
