A Flash Flood Watch is in effect, commencing tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. until Monday afternoon at 6 p.m.

Tonight’s weather story from the National Weather Service:

Heavy rainfall next few days

(December 25, 2015) – Two rounds of moderate to heavy rain are expected this weekend and early next week.

Round one will move in from the south Saturday morning and continue through Sunday afternoon. This system could bring as much as 1.5-2.5″ of rain to areas along and south of US-24.

After a brief break Sunday evening, Round 2 will move in from the southwest early Monday morning. Expect an additional 1-1.5″ of precipitation for areas south of US-24. Precipitation may start out as freezing rain, then transition to rain by late morning. Minor ice accumulations are possible.

Otherwise, rain will continue through the afternoon before transitioning to a mix of rain and snow Monday night into Tuesday.

Flooding is possible in the lowlands and near rivers, mainly in the Maumee and Wabash river basins. Heavy rain will cause ponding on the roads, so travel with caution.
