Traffic Crash Leaves One Person Deceased
Details: The Allen County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a two vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of U.S. 27 South and Benzinger Drive. At approximately 3:09 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2015, a White Buick LeSabre was westbound on Benzinger Drive when it failed to stop at the stop sign, and drove into the path of a silver Ford Escape that was northbound on U.S. 27. The male driver of the Buick was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver of the Ford sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance to be evaluated. It is unknown at this time why the Buick failed to stop at the intersection. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and the crash remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department.
