Parkview Hospital Randallia’s $55 million renovation unveils key milestones to close out 2015

(December 11, 2015) – It’s been just over a year since Parkview Health’s CEO, Mike Packnett, introduced plans to invest $55 million in the Parkview Hospital Randallia campus. On Friday, leaders unveiled two of the most recent completed milestones: the new Family Birthing Center (FBC) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The new FBC, now located on the first floor, offers 10 LDRP birthing suites enabling new mothers to experience labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum care in one private room throughout their stay. The new rooms are designed to improve efficiency, comfort and overall patient experience with many of the comforts of home in a calm, serene, spacious environment.

The expanded, new, state-of-the-art ICU provides 12 beds and features advanced technology and critical care design supported by skilled caregivers. Each private room is equipped with eICU technology and an overhead ceiling lift for increased patient care, comfort and safety. The unit provides a spacious, warm and healing environment designed to accommodate and provide comfort to all visitors.

“We’ve made many significant investments into new services and improvements as we also carefully evaluated the long term plans for Parkview Hospital Randallia,” said Ben Miles, president, Parkview Regional Medical Center & Affiliates. “The demand for care and services at this hospital has exceeded our expectations and many residents continue to choose this location as their preferred source of health care. We’re excited to continue to invest in this campus as we address the needs of our community.”

Throughout much of 2015, crews made structural improvements on the 62-year-old hospital along with many aesthetic, safety and quality updates on the exterior, giving it a new look. Further enhancements over the next three years will allow for many new and improved inpatient and outpatient services including state-of-the-art surgery suites, a cardiac catheterization lab, and updated and enhanced inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services.

“Parkview Hospital Randallia is important to this community,” said Marlon Wardlow, COO, Parkview Hospital Randallia. “With new individuals coming to our facility, starting families at our Family Birthing Center, or establishing their medical care with a new primary care doctor, the renovated facility will enable us to deliver an improved patient experience and even better care for the community.”
