Bank Robbery, Salin Bank, 6433 East State Boulevard

Date: Wednesday, December 9, 2015

Time: 3:50 p.m.

Location: Salin Bank at 6433 East State Boulevard

Details:

The Fort Wayne police responded to an alarm at approximately 3:50 p.m. this afternoon indicating a robbery at the Salin Bank located at 6433 East State Boulevard. Once on scene it was learned that the bank was robbed by three male blacks each with the hood of a hoodie style sweatshirt pulled over their heads. Bank employees indicated to officers that each of the three perpetrators had on what they believed to be afro style wigs under their hoods. At least one was said to be armed with a silver handgun during the robbery. There were no patrons in the bank at the time of the incident.

The trio was successful in getting an undisclosed amount of money before seen leaving the area in a gold or silver Buick Century or Regal style vehicle. Detectives will be canvassing the nearby businesses to see if any of their surveillance equipment might have captured images to assist them with their investigation. This particular area was heavily traveled during the time of the robbery. Detectives are asking anyone that might have observed the three or a vehicle possibly matching the description given to call Crime Stoppers at 436-STOP (436-7867).

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutor’s office.
