Critical Traffic Accident

Location: Paulding and Hessen Cassel Roads

Victim: 2 Males/ 1 Female

Details:

On 11/24/2015 at approximately 6:09 PM Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a four vehicle traffic accident with parties injured at the intersection of Paulding and Hessen Cassel Roads. Preliminary investigation indicates that a pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed East on Paulding Rd. and clipped a white cadillac from the rear that was in the turning lane on Paulding Rd. preparing to go North on Hessen Cassel rd.

The pickup truck then proceeded East through the intersection on Paulding Rd. while a toyota passenger car was traveling North on Hessen Cassel Rd. and a silver trail blazer was traveling South on Hessen Cassel Rd. causing a multiple vehicle collision by colliding with the passing vehicles simultaneously.

The male driver of the pickup truck was found on the hood of his vehicle and was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The male driver and female passenger of the toyota were both taken to a local hospital in serious condition by Paramedics. The driver of the trail blazer and the cadillac were both uninjured.

The intersection was closed to all traffic during the course of the investigation. The Fatal Accident Crash Team was paged to the scene and took over the investigation. Witnesses to the accdent were questioned and the traffic accident scene was processed. At this time alcohol does not appear to be a contributing cause of the accident.

This incident remains under investigation by the Fatal Accident Crash Team, the Fort Wayne Police Department, and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
