Today’s weather story from the National Weather Service:
Windy conditions today
(November 19, 2015) – Windy conditions expected today for the region, with the strongest winds expected closer to Lake Michigan, especially in Berrien county. Sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph will be common. Locally higher gusts to 45 mph or more are possible in Berrien county, warranting a Wind Advisory.
Of greater focus is the increasing likihood for accumulating snow across parts of the area late Friday night into Saturday. The majority of the snow will fall during the day Saturday, which may limit amounts as temperatures in the mid to upper 30s and warm ground temperatures cause some melting of the snow as it falls. In addition, the track of the system is still being fine tuned with the highest amounts potentially shifting north or south.
Once this system passes, MUCH colder air will arrive with highs Sunday struggling to climb above freezing.
