Critical Injury Accident, Wayne Trace and Gretna Avenue

Date: 11/10/2015

Time: 11:32PM

Location: Wayne Trace and Gretna Avenue

Victims:

  1. Adult Male, Critical Condition
  2. Juvenile Male, Serious Condition

Details:

On Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at approximately 11:32PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the area of Wayne Trace and Gretna Ave on a report of an injury accident. Officers arrived and found both an adult male and juvenile male to be in serious condition. They were both transported to a local hospital, where the adult male was downgraded to critical condition.

Initial information indicates both males were in a vehicle that was traveling southbound on Wayne Trace at a high rate of speed (adult driver, juvenile passenger). As the vehicle approached the curve in the road just north of Gretna Ave, the vehicle left the east side of the road for an unknown reason, went down the embankment and rolled over, coming out of the embankment and righting itself before coming to a rest on the other side of Gretna Ave. The adult male appeared to have been ejected during this.

No other vehicles were reported to be involved, and no other injuries. Both speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in this crash. Crash Investigators are currently collecting evidence, processing the crash scene, and speaking with witnesses. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact police. This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
