Showers and an isolated thunderstorms expected to develop later tonight
(November 11, 2015) – A strong storm system will cross the region late tonight and Thursday. Showers and an isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop along a strong cold front and move across the region later tonight, with an isolated damaging wind gust possible.
Very windy conditions will develop on Thursday as this storm intensifies across the northern Great Lakes. Southwest winds of 25 to 35 with gusts to 45 mph late tonight will become west and increase to 30 to 40 mph with gusts to as high as 55 mph Thursday. These strong winds will lead to large battering waves on Lake Michigan with beach erosion possible especially Thursday afternoon and Thursday night.
