USF Lecture to Examine Christian-Muslim Relations in Middle East
(November 5, 2015) — The University of Saint Francis School of Liberal Arts and Sciences presents the lecture “Eastern Christians and Islam” on Wednesday, November 11 at 7 p.m. in the Brookside Ballroom on the USF campus, 2701 Spring Street.
Dr. Adam DeVille of the USF Department of Philosophy and Theology will discuss the history of Christian-Muslim relations in the Middle East to help explain present conflicts in the region and future prospects of peace. Dr. DeVille will address the current situation in Syria that has involved Russia, ostensibly to protect Christian groups against further Islamic violence, showing the complicated relationship between religions, politics, and international actors in the region.
