Traffic shift planned on U.S. 24 on Wednesday

News release from INDOT:

Traffic Shift Planned on U.S. 24 between Amber and Homestead Road on Wednesday, November 4
U.S. 24 traffic will be shifted to eastbound lanes while small structure replacement continues

ALLEN COUNTY (November 2, 2015) – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that beginning Wednesday, Nov. 4, contractors will use crossovers to switch U.S. 24 traffic to the eastbound lanes of the highway, with one lane open in each direction between Amber and Homestead Roads in Allen County.

The shift is needed to finish replacement of a small structure over Zentsmaster Drain, at the intersection of U.S. 24 and Redding Drive. Once the structure is replaced, the left lane of U.S. 24, in both directions, will be restricted in order to remove the crossovers.

This project is expected to be complete by late November. The contract was awarded to Brooks Construction Company for $1.4 million.
