History Center Screens New Women’s Baseball Documentary
(October 30, 2015) – Wednesday evening, November 4 at 6pm, the History Center will welcome documentary filmmakers from Grand Valley State University Veterans History Project for the Fort Wayne premiere of their new documentary A Team of Their Own.
The documentary tells the story of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, which included teams such as the Fort Wayne Daisies and the Rockford Peaches (featured in the 1992 hit movie A League of Their Own) as well as the women who stepped up to the plate to keep baseball alive for America while many major leaguers left for war.
Following the screening, the documentary team will be on hand for a Q&A session. This event is free and open to the public.
