Officers were dispatched to the BP gas station at 909 E Coliseum Blvd for an armed robbery. I arrived as Officer M Schultz did. We secured the building and Officer Schultz spoke to the cashier. I went to talk to a man in the parking lot that had pulled in during the robbery.

I spoke to #####################. He told me he saw the men inside and saw a gun. ########## told me two men then ran out of the store and went east and then around the building. ######### told me he walked behind them and turned the corner in time to see the men get into a black mid sized car and drive off. He said the car wasn’t new but was in good condition. ######## said it drove off from behind the store on California Rd towards Parnell Ave.

I asked ######## to describe the men to me. ######### said ############ of#### ##################### ######################################################. ######### described him as a male black, between 19-25 yo, 5’8, 160 lbs, with his hair in dreads. I asked ######### if he would be able to recognize the man again and he said he absolutely would. He then described the other man as a male black with light skin, 5’8, skinny, same age as the other man, and had on a gray hoodie. ######### said that man had a silver handgun in his hand.

I walked to the corner where ######## said the vehicle went. I followed it around to the east where the car was said to have driven down California Ave. A man was outside behind the adjacent building, working. I asked him if he had seen anyone around. He said he did. I identified the man as ######, ##########. ###### told me that he saw a black Ford, possible a Taurus, drop off a male black in a gray hoodie. He said the man in the hoodie walked past him and around the corner towards the BP station. ##### said he thought there were two other people in the car but didn’t pay much attention. I thanked him and asked him to stick around long enough for a detective to talk to him. He agreed.

I went back to the store with Officer Schultz. Shortly after Det C Debose arrived. We filled him in on what we had been advised so far. Det Debose spoke to the cashier and then I pointed out ######### to him. Det Debose spoke to ###### and then allowed ####### to leave. Before Det Debose went into the store I walked him around the side of the building and introduced him to ####### and explained why. Det Debose then spoke to ####### as well.

I returned to the shop. The cashier toll Officer Schultz and I then that she just remembered something. She said one of the men had asked her if they carried Apple Snapple and she showed him where. The man went and got one and brought it to the register. She said the two men then robbed her but she thought the Snapple bottle was still on the counter. I went inside and found an Apple Snapple on the counter next to the empty cash register. I got my camera and took 13 photos of the exterior, the cashier, the interior of the store and of the Snapple bottle. I then collected the bottle for evidence.

Det Debose was talking to the cashier and owner inside. Officer Schultz stated he would stay at the scene so I left to download the photos and place the bottle into evidence. I drove to the Police Operations Center and put the bottle into continuity as item 301 and downloaded the 13 photos. Report made.
