Narrative By: FWPD Officer Brautzsch

On September 24th 2015 I responded to 7502 North Southtown Crossing; Walmart, regarding an armed disturbance. Dispatch advised that Walmart loss prevention attempted to stop a shoplifting suspect when the male white suspect pulled a gun on them. Dispatch advised that the suspect was possibly in a maroon Cadillac on the parking lot.

Upon my arrival I was flagged down by several members of Walmart loss prevention in the parking lot. They advised that the suspect had abandoned his vehicle, a maroon Cadillac bearing Indiana license plate of ######, and stolen another vehicle from someone in the parking lot before driving off.

The owner of the other vehicle, ########## advised that he parked next to the maroon Cadillac and exited his vehicle when the suspect approached him.

####### stated that the suspect pointed a revolver at his face and said “give me everything.” ###### stated that the suspect got into his vehicle, a 2007 Blue Cadillac CTS bearing Indiana license plate of ######, with a female white subject and drove away. Walmart Security officer, ##########, stated that he followed the blue Cadillac out to Tillman Rd before returning to the store.

I aired all of the suspect information on the radio and dispatch advised that the maroon Cadillac was registered to #######################.

I went inside to speak with Walmart loss prevention officers and review video of the incident. Walmart loss prevention officers ########### and ######### ########## stated that they were attempting to stop the suspect and a female white subject for shoplifting. They stated that the female suspect had concealed allergy medication and shampoo in her purse and walked passed all points of sale. ######## and ########## stated that they approached the two subjects and attempted to stop them when the male subject pulled out a revolver. ######## stated that the suspect pointed the handgun at him and said something similar to “shit’s getting real now.” The suspect then pointed the handgun directly at ############ face and threatened to shoot both ####### and #########. ###### and ####### retreated into the loss prevention office and the two suspects fled out of the store and then stole ###### vehicle.

I was able to review the video footage of the incident with Walmart loss prevention while they were burning the video and observed to be a series of events accurate to what all witnesses had described. I observed the female suspect to be white with dark hair up in a bun or pony tail and wearing a black “Purdue” long sleeve shirt. The male subject was white, stocky, wearing a black hat, shorts and a black shirt. I also observed that the male suspect had tattoos on his right forearm and a tattoo of what appeared to be writing on his neck from the video. I aired the updated suspect description on the radio and was advised by other officers that the suspect was possibly ######## was listed as living at ############# in our local system.

I contacted the detective bureau and they advised that Detective Dubose was on his way to the scene. I took photographs of the maroon Cadillac that I later uploaded into the veripic system.

Detective Dubose arrived on scene and advised that I could clear. I took the stolen vehicle report that was filled out by ######### and gave it to FWPD records personnel. I cleared the scene and later returned to service.
