News release from the Lucky Duck Children’s Consignment Sale:

Lucky Duck Children’s Consignment Sale Helps Families Save Money

(September 21, 2015) – The Fall/Winter Lucky Duck Children’s Consignment Sale will be held September 24-26, 2015 at The Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

The Lucky Duck is a shopping EVENT. Individuals consign their gently used, better brands of children’s clothing, shoes, furniture, toys, books, Halloween costumes and everything in between. Maternity items, Juniors and Women’s clothes are also accepted.

Admission is FREE during general sale hours: Sale hours are Friday, September 25 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Saturday, September 26 from 9am-3pm. Many items are marked half price on Saturday. Cash and credit cards are accepted.

For customers wanting to shop before the general public, pre-sale shopping takes place on Thursday, September 24th beginning at 6:00pm. This ticket can be purchased at the Coliseum ticket office the night of the event for $10, with 100% of door money collected going to OPEN DOOR HAITI. (https://opendoorhaiti.org/)

Consignment is increasingly popular in this economy as families find kids growing out of clothing and equipment quickly, and also desire to be “green” by recycling gently-used gear.

Using the online bar-coding system on the website, consignors price their items then print tags from their home computers. Consignors drop their items off the week of the sale, and sale staff will set up and organize the sale into one large shopping experience.

“The amazing thing about this sale is that consignors set their own prices. They know what they want for an item, so they set their prices accordingly,” says Lucky Duck sale owner, Karen Brandt. “What also sets us apart is that everything is bar coded and computerized. This makes it nice for consignors to go on line at any time during the sale to see what items they have sold and how much money they have made.”

Consignors earn 60 percent of their total sales and the opportunity to receive up to 75 percent by volunteering to work a shift at the sale, or referring a friend to consign. Consignors & Volunteers receive passes to shop the private pre-sale Wednesday, September 23rd. Unsold items can be donated to our charity partner: Fort Wayne Rescue Mission/Charis House- or can be picked up by the consignor at the end of the sale.

Brandt enjoys being able to provide local families a, “fun, fashionable and clean bargain-hunting experience. We are NOT a garage sale – expect upscale finds that are easy to browse, as all our clothing is on hangers.”
Thursday- Saturday Lucky Duck also has an amazing group of Vendors set up for more fun shopping. The sale grows by leaps and bounds every season and this sale is no different!
