Suspect Arrested, 800 Block of Dolphin Drive

Time: 9:00 p.m.
Location: 800 Block of Dolphin Drive
Arrested: Homer T Richards M/53, Fort Wayne for Aggravated Battery (Preliminary Charge)
Details:
Investigators working on an earlier shooting incident that took place at the Cap n’ Cork Liquor Store located at 604 E. Lewis Street was able to develop information that lead them to Homer T Richards. Richards it was learned is the person responsible for the shooting.
Utilizing Allen County SWAT and the Fort Wayne Police Crisis Response Team (CRT), officers surrounded the apartment building and after several hours of communicating with him, Richards walked out of the apartment building and was placed under arrest. He has been booked on a preliminary charge of Aggravated Battery. The shooting victim in this incident remains in critical condition.
Fort Wayne police was assisted by Allen County SWAT and the Allen County Prosecutors office.
