News release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department:
House Fire, 10509 Hickory Tree Road
(September 15, 2015) – The Fort Wayne Fire Dept. responded to a reported house fire at 10509 Hickory Tree Road. Upon arrival firefighters found one story ranch with moderate smoke coming out of the attic area of the house. A passer – by had see the smoke and called 911.
Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack into the attic from the garage. The fire was placed under control in about 20 minutes from the alarm time. No one was home at the time of this fire but two family pets were found in the house and removed safely to the back yard by firefighters.
There was moderate fire, water, and smoke damage to the attic area of the house and minor damage to the interior part of the house. No injuries were reported and this fire remains under investigation.
Assisting at the scene were TRAA, NEREMC, FWPD, N.E.C., NIPSCO.
