Michael Brown named as new District Chief of EMS for Fort Wayne Fire Department
(September 14, 2015) – Michael S. Brown, an 11-year veteran of the Fort Wayne Fire Department will be sworn in as District Chief of EMS. In his new position, Brown will be responsible for managing the Fort Wayne Fire Department’s delivery of emergency medical care as well as work as a liaison between FWFD and local hospitals as well as the local ambulance provider.
Most of Brown’s career on the fire department was spent as a private in the combat division and during that time he served on the EMS committee for several of those years. Earlier this year he was promoted to the rank of Captain/Instructor at the academy.
He received paramedic training locally at the University of St. Francis and began his public safety career working EMS locally. Brown will continue to work part time in EMS as a member of the Parkview Samaritan team.
