2015 Web.com Tour finals set to begin next Thursday in Fort Wayne, Indiana
Web.com Tour and PGA TOUR Players to Compete for TOUR Cards and Positions
Over Four Events in Fort Wayne, Charlotte, Columbus and Ponte Vedra BeachPONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (September 5, 2015) – With the awarding of the first 25 PGA TOUR membership cards for 2015-16 last Sunday at the 21st and final Regular Season event on the 2015 Web.com Tour schedule, attention turns to the 2015 Web.com Tour Finals. The four-tournament series will determine who earns the second set of 25 cards as well as set the priority ranking positions for all 50 card earners.
The Finals will launch Thursday, Sept. 10th with the first round of the Hotel Fitness Championship at one of Indiana’s top golf courses, Sycamore Hills Golf Club, in Fort Wayne.
On Aug. 30th, 25 cards were locked up in Portland by the Regular Season’s 25 leading money winners. Twenty-five more cards will be determined at the Finals based on earnings in the four events. The all-important positioning of players within the Web.com Tour graduates’ category on the PGA TOUR’s eligibility list (assigning of Nos. 1-50) will also be determined.
All 50 card earners will be officially recognized and receive their 2015-16 PGA TOUR membership cards at a ceremony following the Web.com Tour Championship at TPC Sawgrass on Oct. 4th.

- Field size is 134 players as of 5 p.m. ET, Friday, Sept. 4th.
The following players finished 126-200 in FedExCup points but are otherwise exempt on the PGA TOUR and will not play in the Web.com Tour Finals: Will MacKenzie, Scott Stallings, Jamie Donaldson, Seung-Yul Noh, David Toms, Blayne Barber, Charlie Beljan, K.J. Choi, Geoff Ogilvy, Graeme McDowell, Ernie Els, Shane Lowry, Steve Stricker, Tiger Woods, Angel Cabrera and Ben Crane. Patrick Rodgers (via FedExCup points) and Cameron Smith (via the money list) are exempt, having earned their PGA TOUR cards as Special Temporary Members this year.
Justin Leonard has opted to take his one-time career money exemption in 2015-16.
Martin Kaymer and Victor Dubuisson are not eligible for PGA TOUR membership in 2015-16.
2015 Web.com Tour Finals Overview
- The Web.com Tour is The Path for the PGA TOUR’s 50 membership cards for the following season.
- The 2015 Web.com Tour season consists of 21 Regular Season events, followed by four Finals events.
- While the top-25 players from the Web.com Tour Regular Season have already earned their PGA TOUR cards, their order of priority won’t be determined until the conclusion of the Web.com Tour Finals on Oct. 4th. They will carry their earnings into the Finals and priority will be established based on their Regular Season and Finals earnings combined.
- Of those players from the Web.com Tour Regular Season top-25 list, the No. 1 player at the conclusion of the Finals based on combined Regular Season and Finals earnings will receive a full exemption to the PGA TOUR. Therefore, any Regular Season top-25 player can earn the coveted No. 1 position if he performs well enough in the four Finals events. In addition to his PGA TOUR exemption, the No. 1 player receives an exemption into THE PLAYERS Championship for the upcoming season.
- A separate money list for the Web.com Tour Finals will determine the final 25 PGA TOUR cards. The player who earns the most money during the four Finals events (if different from the combined Regular Seasons/Finals money winner) will earn a full exemption to the PGA TOUR plus an invitation to THE PLAYERS.
- The fields for the four Web.com Tour Finals events will combine the top-75 money winners from the Web.com Tour’s Regular Season and Nos. 126-200 from the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup points list (including non-members), plus medical exemptions, at the conclusion of the Wyndham Championship on Aug. 23rd. Those with existing PGA TOUR exemptions may not compete.
- All four Finals events will feature $1 million purses.
- All four will air on Golf Channel in the United States. They will also be available in 192 countries and territories via the PGA TOUR’s international broadcasting operation.
- The 2015-16 PGA TOUR season begins with the Frys.com Open Oct. 15-18.
The 2015 Web.com Tour Finals will take place as follows:
- Sept. 10-13 – Hotel Fitness Championship / Sycamore Hills Golf Club / Fort Wayne, Iniana.
- Sept. 17-20 – Small Business Connection Championship at River Run / River Run Country Club / Davidson, N.C. (Charlotte)
- Sept. 24-27 – Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship / Ohio State University Golf Club / Scarlet Course Columbus, Ohio
- Oct. 1-4 – Web.com Tour Championship / TPC Sawgrass / Dye’s Valley Course / Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. (Jacksonville)
