News release from WOWO:

WOWO announces Penny Pitch partnership

(August 17, 2015) – WOWO Radio is proud to carry the tradition of Penny Pitch into 2015. For the first time in the history of the charity, Penny Pitch will partner with a local member of the community to expand the reach and donations for our registered charities.

This year, Brigadoon Fitness in Fort Wayne will partner with WOWO to match donations to Penny Pitch. The “WOWO Brigadoon Fitness Penny Pitch” will become one of the biggest station fundraisers in the 67 year history of giving back to the community. “I want you to raise as much money as you can so I can double it,” said Bruce Dye, CEO of Brigadoon Fitness.

“Last year we raised $130,000 for the community. Brigadoon Fitness is prepared to walk into our studios and write a matching check for whatever we raise. This generosity is going to make a huge difference for some great charities,” said Ryan Wrecker, program director for WOWO Radio.

Applications for the WOWO Brigadoon Fitness Penny Pitch will be accepted until August 31st. Criteria for the application can be found at WOWO.com by clicking on the “Penny Pitch” tab. To be considered as a recipient of Penny Pitch, a charity must have an active 501c3 status and submit how the donated funds will be used.

Last year, WOWO raised $130,000 for Boomerang Backpacks, a non-profit organization that offers free weekend food distribution program to students across northeast Indiana. This year we’ll select multiple charities to benefit from the anticipated large amount of funds that will be raised.

Penny Pitch was created in 1948. In the last few years, WOWO is also proud to enlist the services of Bob Chase and Tyler Eifert as spokespersons for the charity.
