Lane Restrictions Scheduled on I-69 for Bridge Maintenance
I-69, near S.R. 14, will be restricted to one lane in both directions for nighttime workALLEN COUNTY (August 17, 2015) – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces that bridge maintenance is scheduled to begin on Interstate 69, .53 miles north of S.R. 14, on Friday, Aug. 21, weather permitting.
This portion of I-69 will be restricted to one lane from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. to accommodate for bridge joint maintenance over the Norfolk & Southern railroad tracks. Work will begin on the southbound lane first, followed by the northbound lane.Crews will work nighttime hours from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sundays through Wednesdays, weather permitting. Motorists are reminded to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through any construction zone. A 55 mph speed limit will be strictly enforced.
Work should be completed by early September. The project is part of a combined bridge maintenance contract awarded to Pioneer Associates, Inc., for $452,774.
