City of Fort Wayne: Flood damaged flashboards replaced Monday

News release from the City of Fort Wayne:

Flood Damaged Flashboards Replaced Monday
River Level Adjusted this Weekend

(August 7, 2015) – River levels on the St. Joseph River, north of the dam, will be temporarily lowered this weekend so crews can replace the flashboards damaged by June flooding. The lowering is necessary to make it safer for crews to step onto the dam’s spillway and replace the flashboards.

The water level on the St. Joe will begin dropping at midnight Saturday, August 8, and the flashboards will be replaced on Monday, August 10. The river level should return to normal by Thursday, August 13.

The project could be delayed if it is raining on Monday and the spillway is too wet to complete the work.
