Critical Shooting Investigation, 6000 block of Bunt Drive

Location: 6000 Bunt Drive

Victim: Adult Male, Critical Condition

Details:

On Sunday, 08/02/2015, at approximately 1:22 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 6000 Block of Bunt Drive, Waterloo Gardens Apartments, reference a shooting investigation. Officers arrived on scene and located the victim inside an apartment. The adult/male victim was conscious and alert when officers arrived. It appeared the victim was suffering from an apparent single gunshot wound to the chest.

Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital in serious condition. Upon arriving at the hospital, the victim was downgraded to critical condition by a physician.

Preliminary information indicates the suspect and the victim were involved in a disturbance inside the apartment prior to the shooting. The disturbance escalated and the suspect shot the victim and fled the scene. The victim called 911 to report the shooting and request medical assistance. It appears the suspect and the victim were the only two subjects inside the apartment at the time of the shooting.

Crime Scene Technicians are currently processing the scene and collecting evidence. Detectives hope to gather more information regarding this investigation once they are able to interview the victim. No arrests have been made and there are no suspects at this time. This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
