The Fort Wayne Indoor Announces Summit City Rock the Ramp
This One-Day Festival Is An Opportunity to Help Fort Wayne Indoor
Support The Youth of Fort Wayne’s Skate and Bike Community

(June 13, 2015) – The Fort Wayne Indoor in partnership with Even Keel Event Productions and Living Fort Wayne, announced today that the first ever action sports festival in Fort Wayne will be held on Sunday, July 19th on Calhoun Street, spanning between Wallace Street and Williams Street. Tickets for Summit City Rock the Ramp will be available for purchase the day of the event.

The purpose of Summit City Rock the Ramp is to raise funds to support Fort Wayne Indoor Bike & Skate Park. The Fort Wayne Indoor Bike & Skate Park (FWI) is a 501c(3) not for profit organization serving the BMX and skate community of Northeast Indiana. The FWI provides the youth of Fort Wayne the opportunity to build an inclusive community through their custom built indoor facility. They also host local competitions and events throughout the year.

“We are thrilled to announce that 13-year-old X-Games Girl, Hannah Roberts will be performing at the event,” said Rich Hoppe of The Fort Wayne Indoor “This soon-to-be ninth grader has quickly gained attention over the past three years she has been riding. In fact, the magnoliaBMX website has called her ‘the future of BMX.’ Also joining us is Shaun Doss who suffered a serious T4 injury when he was just four years old. Shaun is now taking the Wheelchair Motocross (WCMX) world by storm. He often skates with WCMX legends like Aaron Fortheringham and has been taking part in WCMX competitions the last couple of years. Turnstone is excited Shaun will be in town and is giving him a tour of their facilities while is in Fort Wayne.”

Gates will open at 2 p.m. with the first BMX Demonstration at 3 p.m. The day will include informal skate demonstrations that allow the skating talent to put their skill and style on display, local skate competition showcasing local talent and a silent auction featuring a skate deck painted by nationally recognized BMX star Matt Hoffman and 11 other national and local artists. There will be live music throughout the day featuring musicians like Sankofa, Fort Wayne Funk Orchestra and Flamingo Nosebleed. Food and beverages will be available by the Oyster Bar and Calhoun Street Soups, Salads and Spirits.
