BRIEF SUMMARY OF INCIDENT and/or ARREST:

On Monday, June 29, 2015 members of the Fort Wayne Police Department Vice and Narcotics Division, along with members of the Emergency Services Team served a search warrant at 4421 Sanford Lane. Detectives received information that someone at this residence was dealing heroin and obtained a search warrant after a lengthy investigation.

While serving the search warrant, two adults were located inside of the residence. Sherwin L. Underwood Jr., was arrested on four counts of dealing cocaine or narcotic drug (heroin), maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a sawed off shotgun, dealing marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia. The other adult subject was not arrested at this time.

Detectives found numerous items of evidence during the search of this residence, including a pistol, a sawed off shotgun, marijuana and numerous items of drug paraphernalia. Members of the Allen County Department of Health were on hand and offered free HIV and Hepatitis C testing to the adults inside the home at the time of the raid. Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control were called in and took custody of one dog.

This investigation is ongoing.
