The Fort Wayne Indoor Announces Summit City Rock the Ramp
This One-Day Festival Is An Opportunity to Help Fort Wayne Indoor Support The Youth of Fort Wayne’s Skate and Bike Community

(June 15, 2015) – The Fort Wayne Indoor, in partnership with Even Keel Event Production, Living Fort Wayne, 963XKE, and HOT1079, announced today that the Summit City Rock the Ramp festival will be held on Sunday, July 19th on Calhoun Street, spanning between Wallace Street and Williams Street. Tickets will be available for purchase the day of the event. (https://thefortwayneindoor.com/summit-city-rock-the-ramp/)

The purpose of Summit City Rock the Ramp is to raise funds to support Fort Wayne Indoor Bike & Skate Park. The Fort Wayne Indoor Bike & Skate Park (FWI) is a 501c(3) not for profit organization serving the bike and skate community of Northeast Indiana. The FWI provides the youth of Fort Wayne the opportunity to build an inclusive community through their custom built indoor facility. They also host local competitions and events throughout the year.

“FWI is truly a unique organization that provides a safe, legal and positive recreational opportunity for our community,” said Rich Hoppe of The Fort Wayne Indoor “Unfortunately, we face an unavoidable challenge each year. Warm weather. Once the weather warms, skateboarders and bicyclists can move their interests outdoors causing the revenue stream for FWI to dwindle. Our goal with this festival is to promote general awareness of the indoor skate park and provide an alternative revenue stream through sponsors and ticket sales to fund the park through the summer months.”

Gates will open at 2 p.m. with the first BMX Demonstration at 3 p.m. The day will include informal skate demonstrations that allow the skating talent to put their skill and style on display, local skate competition showcasing local talent and a silent auction selling 11 skateboard decks painted by national artists. There will be DJs & live music throughout the day featuring local musicians The Fort Wayne Funk Orchestra, Sankofa & Flamingo Nosebleed. Food and beverages will be available by the Oyster Bar and Calhoun Street Soups Salads and Spirits.
