Tonight’s weather story from the National Weather Service:

Severe weather likely through tonight

(June 22, 2015) – A complex and potentially dangerous severe weather situation is unfolding today as an extremely unstable environment will be in place ahead of a cold front as highs reach well into the 80s.

Convection in Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota is expected to move towards the region by early afternoon and could bring a threat of damaging wind, large hail and isolated tornadoes as early as 1 pm EDT. A greater threat for widespread damaging wind is possible after 7 pm EDT depending on the evolution of the daytime storms. Isolated tornadoes will also be possible along the line as well as any storms that form ahead of the line.

This weather story will likely be updated later this morning as evolution of the storms becomes more clear. Begin making preparations for severe weather through tonight and stay alert for the potential of watches and warnings in your area.
